new things!

Never in my life did I think I would become a cat person. I'm not sure if it is the cat craze on the internet, but i NEEDED a cat in my life ASAP. When we got Penguin a month or so ago, I was still slightly hesitant that it wouldn't work out. Boy, was I wrong.

seriously though, she is the cutest! this picture makes her look like a kitten but she is actually 6 years old.

And one more thing...we put an offer in on a house! Now, the thing is: this is a foreclosure. I'm not very optimistic about the bank approving our offer because I don't know anyone that has purchased a foreclosure before. I am being pessimistic because I don't want to get my hopes up and be heartbroken if we don't get it. I did want to show you a couple pictures of why I fell in love with this place. Look at this living room! Windows everywhere and crazy moldings!

and how adorable is this staircase?
That is about the only pictures I will show you. I don't want to get all attached and then not get the house. If we do get the house though, I will most certainly be putting before and after shots of each room. The possibilities are endless in this place!

house hunting

so remember that time I wrote that we were in the process of buying our condo?  APRIL FOOLS!

....well not really. We had every intention of purchasing our little love pad until we ran into another problem with our condo association president. I understand she is trying to follow the rules and all but honestly, there are 50 extra visitor spots! Our other roommate should be able to park there without her throwing a hissy fit. The poor kid has to park on a side street and walk over in the cold.

That was obviously the last of many things that have really bugged us about living here and we just really don't want to live here and always be looking over our shoulder hoping we aren't breaking a rules.

I will miss this gorgeousness this summer.

Looking at those pictures really makes me sad. It is the perfect pool. But I guess I can't get all hung up on something we use only 3 months out of the year.

So now we are embarking on the most stressful thing ever: HOUSE HUNTING! We have looked at 3 houses so far and at least 3 more this weekend. We want to be in a new house ASAP but we know we should just jump the gun on the first nice one we see.

I'm excited for this and can't wait to show all the places we see, the place we purchase and all the awesomeness we will put into it.

back at it.

I'm back! Again! I am here this time to stay, I promise.

So let's give you an update, shall we?

I woke up to this lovely scene 10 feet outside my window:

Yes, that is my car on cinder blocks. Just about the worst thing ever. First of all, I live in a nice condo complex filled with adults age 60+. This is a neighborhood in a nice area where you can't even sneeze without all the old people calling a neighbor to inform them. How this happened 10 feet from my window without me hearing or someone else seeing, I don't understand. I took it with a grain of salt. Stuff happens. You deal with it, hate people for a second, and move on.

We adopted this little girl two weeks ago. Her name was Penguin and we thought it was funny so we decided to keep it. She is such a snuggle monster.

My obsession with chocolate chip cookies resulted in a huge heart shaped cookie for Ryan on Valentine's Day. It baked evenly and didn't burn! I was so excited.

And this scene warmed my little heart. My man and my nephew hanging out watching my brother play volleyball. So sweet!

So there you have it. Aside from us attempting to buy our condo this month, not much has changed around here. Since I am not currently in classes, I would love to get back into annoying my limited readers more often and expand this blog of mine a little. Stay tuned!

some random things i want to show you

The past few weeks have been sort of hectic. There was a wedding, a baby and now an upcoming vacation I am very excited about.  Only a few pictures to share with you because I haven't had the time to upload any fancy schmancy ones yet from my fancy schmancy camera.

Let's lead with this little gem: my super lazy caprese salad. I have zero patience to line up all the tomatoes and mozzarella all nice like Ryan does so I just like to chop them all up and throw everything together. This time I decided to throw in some chick peas because well, they're my favorite. It gave it such a great texture that I think they will always have to go together from now on.

So now that you are drooling, let's chat about the app everyone (including myself) is obsessed with. The ladies over at A Beautiful Mess put some serious hard work into this app and it shows. The doodles and text you can add to anything has seriously occupied me for far too many hours this week. This one below is my favorite; a picture of my nephew growling at my brother for his dinner. I couldn't help it! Seriously though, go download that app.

I'm like really bad with segues but here is mine anyways :

TOPIC CHANGE!

I said there was a wedding, a baby and now a vaca. If you scroll down a bit more, you'll see a picture from my cousin's wedding. It was lovely. Then, 4 days later we were welcomed with a new baby in the family.

Charlotte Faith

Seriously, how cute is she? We had a little cookout for my dad last night and the weather was perfect so she was just nestled up in everyone's arms all night on the deck. I kept thinking "wow, babies are so easy", then I  looked to my left and saw Charlotte's 2 1/2 year old sister running around chasing bubbles and Ryan chasing her, and I retracted that statement. For right now, I will stick to babysitting.

i'm not really good at things.

Let's take a second and talk about how bad i am at blogging. seriously. I love doing it so why the heck aren't i rambling on here more often? I feel like I have written this exact post at least 5 times since starting this blog.

I am not saying this will be the last time. I am saying i will try a little bit harder to get on here and enlighten my approximate 5 readers.

Lots of fun things have been happening but since i am far too lazy to upload pictures at this exact moment, i will leave you with this picture of Ryan and I at a wedding i was in. Don't we look lovely?

Easter

Let's start this post off with the cutest picture ever:
Ok, now onto Easter business. As you can see, I am the Easter Bunny. Well, I at least I was for work the other day. You will never see me dressed up as a Playboy bunny for Halloween so this is the only opportunity I get to wear furry bunny ears so of course I took full advantage of it. The nose and whiskers were just an added bonus.

I surprised Ryan with an Easter egg hunt in my backyard before all our festivities started. He was having some hard time opening the eggs, hence the weird look on his face. Some eggs had candy, some had change and there was even one with only this picture of Patrick Stewart:
I'm pretty sure that egg was his favorite.

We had to open the sun roof so my Easter bunny could get his ears in the car without a catastrophe. We then started the day at my cousins for brunch, followed by a fancy lunch at Ryan's aunts and ended the day acting like 5 year olds at a family style restaurant.

My family has a contest every time we go to this restaurant. In their ice cream dessert, there is a bit of chocolate ice cream in the middle shaped like a chicken. Whoever cuts the chicken out with the best, wins a prize from my grandmother. This was Ryan's first time doing it, and as you can see, he was taking it very seriously.
Although we had to run around like crazy all day on Sunday, it was overall a really fun day. We got to see so much of our families and eat so much good food.

oh, and here's a pretty little random sunset from Ryan's parking lot.

Food

I truly can't believe it has taken me this long to dedicate a entire post solely to food.  If you are hungry, please step away from this blog. Just do it. It will be detrimental to your stomach if you don't.
If you aren't completely ravenous and enjoy pictures of delicious food please scroll down....ve-ryyyyy slow-lyyyyyyyy.

So this is one of my favorite comfort foods: Chicken Pot Pie. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of this pretty little pie I got at a brewery in Providence. I mean, look at the little doily! Not to mention, that beer was so incredible.

Pizza. What can I say about pizza? I mean, seriously, this is one of the best inventions ever. Even when it's bad, it's good. This lovely creation has always been my go-to pizza: pepperoni and banana peppers. However, last week, I discovered the bacon, banana peppers and olive pizza. OH MY GODDDDDDDD. I will be ordering this probably once a week until I die.

Soupy soup soup. Usually, I am a soup fiend. When people gain weight in the winter, I lose close to 5 lbs because I consume copious amounts of soup instead of my usual diet. I miss it to be honest because this winter I have a been a gluttonous lady and have consumed far too many sandwiches lately.

Wine and Cheese. There is absolutely no better pairing than this. Pizza and Beer is very very close but I really enjoy snacking and being able to pick at olives, cheese, toast, fruit and dark chocolate while drinking my favorite beverage is the absolute best. Also, I don't get that "Oh my god, I am such a pig" feeling afterwards which is lovely.

Mexican!!!! I have always been such a sucker for all things Mexican. It is definitely at the top of my all- time- favorite- type- of- foods list. I try and refrain from indulging in it as often as I usually do because well, I'd be a moose. But gosh, do I love myself a burrito.

I know, this picture is so attractive. To be honest, I am a bit sleepy and a bit hungover. Family Style Chicken was exactly what my brain and stomach needed. Every Sunday when I was a kid we'd go get family style chicken so I guess I have just been bred to love it.

Hot Weiners!!!
I know, what a weird name for such a delicious food. This is a Rhode Island staple and if you ever are around here, find me and I will take you to get some with some coffee milk. A skinny little hot dog, meat sauce, onion, mustard and celery salt is basically heave on a bun.

And last but not least, Oreo's. It's such a simple dessert but truly one of favorites. So much so that some people I know call them Korio's.

Ok, that is all my friends. Now that you are hungry, go get yourself something delicious. Enjoy whatever you have chosen with a good beer or cheap glass of wine and relax.
