some random things i want to show you

The past few weeks have been sort of hectic. There was a wedding, a baby and now an upcoming vacation I am very excited about.  Only a few pictures to share with you because I haven't had the time to upload any fancy schmancy ones yet from my fancy schmancy camera.

Let's lead with this little gem: my super lazy caprese salad. I have zero patience to line up all the tomatoes and mozzarella all nice like Ryan does so I just like to chop them all up and throw everything together. This time I decided to throw in some chick peas because well, they're my favorite. It gave it such a great texture that I think they will always have to go together from now on.

So now that you are drooling, let's chat about the app everyone (including myself) is obsessed with. The ladies over at A Beautiful Mess put some serious hard work into this app and it shows. The doodles and text you can add to anything has seriously occupied me for far too many hours this week. This one below is my favorite; a picture of my nephew growling at my brother for his dinner. I couldn't help it! Seriously though, go download that app.

I'm like really bad with segues but here is mine anyways :

TOPIC CHANGE!

I said there was a wedding, a baby and now a vaca. If you scroll down a bit more, you'll see a picture from my cousin's wedding. It was lovely. Then, 4 days later we were welcomed with a new baby in the family.

Charlotte Faith

Seriously, how cute is she? We had a little cookout for my dad last night and the weather was perfect so she was just nestled up in everyone's arms all night on the deck. I kept thinking "wow, babies are so easy", then I  looked to my left and saw Charlotte's 2 1/2 year old sister running around chasing bubbles and Ryan chasing her, and I retracted that statement. For right now, I will stick to babysitting.

i'm not really good at things.

Let's take a second and talk about how bad i am at blogging. seriously. I love doing it so why the heck aren't i rambling on here more often? I feel like I have written this exact post at least 5 times since starting this blog.

I am not saying this will be the last time. I am saying i will try a little bit harder to get on here and enlighten my approximate 5 readers.

Lots of fun things have been happening but since i am far too lazy to upload pictures at this exact moment, i will leave you with this picture of Ryan and I at a wedding i was in. Don't we look lovely?

Easter

Let's start this post off with the cutest picture ever:
Ok, now onto Easter business. As you can see, I am the Easter Bunny. Well, I at least I was for work the other day. You will never see me dressed up as a Playboy bunny for Halloween so this is the only opportunity I get to wear furry bunny ears so of course I took full advantage of it. The nose and whiskers were just an added bonus.

I surprised Ryan with an Easter egg hunt in my backyard before all our festivities started. He was having some hard time opening the eggs, hence the weird look on his face. Some eggs had candy, some had change and there was even one with only this picture of Patrick Stewart:
I'm pretty sure that egg was his favorite.

We had to open the sun roof so my Easter bunny could get his ears in the car without a catastrophe. We then started the day at my cousins for brunch, followed by a fancy lunch at Ryan's aunts and ended the day acting like 5 year olds at a family style restaurant.

My family has a contest every time we go to this restaurant. In their ice cream dessert, there is a bit of chocolate ice cream in the middle shaped like a chicken. Whoever cuts the chicken out with the best, wins a prize from my grandmother. This was Ryan's first time doing it, and as you can see, he was taking it very seriously.
Although we had to run around like crazy all day on Sunday, it was overall a really fun day. We got to see so much of our families and eat so much good food.

oh, and here's a pretty little random sunset from Ryan's parking lot.

Food

I truly can't believe it has taken me this long to dedicate a entire post solely to food.  If you are hungry, please step away from this blog. Just do it. It will be detrimental to your stomach if you don't.
If you aren't completely ravenous and enjoy pictures of delicious food please scroll down....ve-ryyyyy slow-lyyyyyyyy.

So this is one of my favorite comfort foods: Chicken Pot Pie. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of this pretty little pie I got at a brewery in Providence. I mean, look at the little doily! Not to mention, that beer was so incredible.

Pizza. What can I say about pizza? I mean, seriously, this is one of the best inventions ever. Even when it's bad, it's good. This lovely creation has always been my go-to pizza: pepperoni and banana peppers. However, last week, I discovered the bacon, banana peppers and olive pizza. OH MY GODDDDDDDD. I will be ordering this probably once a week until I die.

Soupy soup soup. Usually, I am a soup fiend. When people gain weight in the winter, I lose close to 5 lbs because I consume copious amounts of soup instead of my usual diet. I miss it to be honest because this winter I have a been a gluttonous lady and have consumed far too many sandwiches lately.

Wine and Cheese. There is absolutely no better pairing than this. Pizza and Beer is very very close but I really enjoy snacking and being able to pick at olives, cheese, toast, fruit and dark chocolate while drinking my favorite beverage is the absolute best. Also, I don't get that "Oh my god, I am such a pig" feeling afterwards which is lovely.

Mexican!!!! I have always been such a sucker for all things Mexican. It is definitely at the top of my all- time- favorite- type- of- foods list. I try and refrain from indulging in it as often as I usually do because well, I'd be a moose. But gosh, do I love myself a burrito.

I know, this picture is so attractive. To be honest, I am a bit sleepy and a bit hungover. Family Style Chicken was exactly what my brain and stomach needed. Every Sunday when I was a kid we'd go get family style chicken so I guess I have just been bred to love it.

Hot Weiners!!!
I know, what a weird name for such a delicious food. This is a Rhode Island staple and if you ever are around here, find me and I will take you to get some with some coffee milk. A skinny little hot dog, meat sauce, onion, mustard and celery salt is basically heave on a bun.

And last but not least, Oreo's. It's such a simple dessert but truly one of favorites. So much so that some people I know call them Korio's.

Ok, that is all my friends. Now that you are hungry, go get yourself something delicious. Enjoy whatever you have chosen with a good beer or cheap glass of wine and relax.

So many things. So so many things to talk about.

Let's start here:

I got this fabulous new iphone5 cover. You see, I really love cats all of a sudden. I unfortunately cannot get one because basically everyone I know is allergic. So rather than make my friends and family suffer, I follow a cat on instagram. Yes, I know, this is very pathetic. But guys, this cat is so freaking cute I can't take it. Just in case you are crazy like me and want to see some cute pictures, follow @nala_cat.  This cat is so cute she has her own store and bonus: some proceeds go to animal shelters.

I have also experienced some damn good chowder this past week. I went to lunch with my mom and scarfed this down in 2.3 seconds. Put dill in anything and I'm almost always sold on it.

Enter the Red Fez:

First of all, let's talk about this awesome decor. I am obsessed. Not only that, they have the best and super unique burger out there. Half chorico and half hamburger with tomato jam, jalapenos and spinach. I wanted to go back the other day but everyone told me to calm down.

This is such an old picture and although my pup is awake in this picture, he was out cold with Ryan for a good 20 minutes before I walked in. So cute I could die.

Wait, wait wait.        St. Patty's Day.

I had to work all day. Ryan played vball all day. Then we have vball at night. It was a disaster. We had to make up for lost time. Car bombs. I know, i know, the name is just wrong but the drink, well the drink is just right.

Ok just two more for two seperate reasons.

1. this dog is so freaking cute.

2. this creation was so freaking good.

til next time lovers....

Boys will be boys...and I will join them.

This weekend was pretty awesome. I was a boy! Well, not really. I was one of the boys for the weekend. This all happened by accident. What was supposed to be a nice night-in eating frozen pizza and watching Ice Age quickly turned into boy's night with me as a tag-along. It always flabbergasts me how much I like being one of the boys. I guess it stems from me being such a tom boy as a kid. A night hanging with these studs is a good night in my book.

Beer pong clearly occurred. Then beer ball. There was lots of beer.
Saturday night happened the same. After a quick trip to see my cousin, I met up with Ryan for some food....and his two friends. The night continued from there on out just me and the boys. It's a good thing I like sports and beer.

We went to this amazingly cool restaurant that is about the size of my kitchen and living room combined. I had thrice fried rice (so weird) and some sort of whiskey concoction that blew my mind. Ryan had goat and squid with Dan Dan noodles. Yea, it was that kind of restaurant. The boys decided it would be a good idea to order an oyster shot. Nothing quite like a slimy oyster and tequila to really get the night going....NOT. This is probably the most disgusting thing I have ever seen and I'm so glad I didn't partake.

I told Ryan I felt bad about always being out with him and the guys because I didn't want to be "that girl" who is always with her boyfriend when he was having a guys night. He assured me that the guy's like having me there and that I shouldn't feel bad if I like doing those types of things rather than wearing heels and going somewhere fancy. Now if I could only find a girl who would join in on this boyish, laid-back fun! Any takers?

Volleyball makes me happy

I never realized just how much I missed volleyball until a couple weeks ago. I was asked to play on a Yankee team with some previous college teammates and some new girls and I fell back in love. There is something about being on a team that really makes me happy. Just in the past two tournaments I have met so many new friends and rekindled a few friendships that I had lost since college. It makes me happy.

It didn't hurt that we all went to the Yardhouse after and got these lovely half yard beers. So delicious.

We were really happy.

Oh and since this is a very quick post, I will leave you with a picture of my messed up back. No worries though, it's in the process of being fixed and so far, it feels fabulous.
